Murals: Introduction

Welcome to my gallery of murals!

I have worked in many fields of commercial art, fine arts, and teaching. Murals have become, for me, the perfect venue to blend those skills, and offer an art form that gives the strongest impact!

This mural business began 10 years ago and I am thrilled at the opportunities coming to me. Working with the client I develop their visions, dreams, and ideas into a visual story. My strength is in murals with a lot of positive energy and movement!

In the past it was customary to paint images on the walls of homes, businesses, places of worship, and government buildings. It was a form of self-expression that allowed each location to be unique and aesthetically pleasing.

Artemisia and Michelangelo were two great mural artists of the Renaissance era who brought mystical wonder and spiritual inspiration to the European world. Diego Rivera was a Mexican muralist whose massive political murals gave messages of hope and empowerment to the Mexican world.

Original women and men have been creating murals for their homes from time immemorial, using clan symbols and visual legends for the health and well-being of the family and as poetic history. From African whitewashed mud homes to North American plains tipis and Haida lodges, the custom has always thrived.

Let us keep the tradition alive in our own way, today!

On a practical level I use exterior house paint with acrylic top coat. Murals can be interior or exterior, painted directly on walls or on specially designed boards to be professionally installed.

My fees are aproximately $12.00 to $15.00 per sq.ft. This depends on the complexity of the project.
